september.

Good morning, good afternoon, and welcome. I believe the best way to discuss mental health is to be open and honest. With this in mind I have created a little video displaying a small segment of my life. I have included small moments of the everyday with my story, and how I am learning to grow from my own challenges.

My video simply named ‘september’ features small snapshots of being a 20-year-old student who deals with their own mental struggles. I choose to include unfiltered moments and mundane activities to present an insightful look into my life, and its imperfections.

I enjoyed taking small moments to film for this piece, as it forced me to slow down and take a pause. Each video was based in my home of Adelaide, featuring friends, family and my dogs here and there. By including the things and people around me that fuel my support circle, I aim to create a sense of authenticity. I believe when we discuss mental health and personally struggles we must be real. Being real and honest allows us to bond, to feel like we are not alone – which can be very challenging to grasp with feelings of mental distress.

Thank you for watching and I hope you find a moment to pause as well.
